SHAMSI RUHE

Shamsi Ruhe is a Black, female queer person who dances with severe mental illness and sings folk, pop, and country. Her rich and powerful voice moves listeners deeply. Shamsi was signed to Mercury Records in younger years and subsequently signed by Chris Blackwell to Island Records. Her current work is in close community. It is a gift when she takes the stage to share her wisdom through story in song.

The 420 Funk Mob features an All Star cast of musicians from inside and outside the world of Parliament Funkadelic, a revolving cast of all star musicians that have included Bowie, D’Angelo, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Outkast, Gene Ween, Amy Winehouse, Lenny Kravitz, Bootsy Collins, Kung Fu, Levon Helm, Greg Allman, label mates DRUGS aka The Mis-Americans and of course Parliament/Funkadelic members.
