Denise Parent has been a vibrant member of the Woodstock community since 2007 and part of the wider Hudson Valley scene since the 1990s. Originally from Long Island, Denise began her musical journey early, mastering vocals, guitar, and drums. Her deep love for the Grateful Dead has led her to perform with several Dead-inspired bands, including The Deadbeats, a local favorite for over 30 years, and Brown Eyed Women, a nationally touring all-female Grateful Dead tribute band.
In addition to performing, Denise hosts “Covered in Dead”—a radio show dedicated to Grateful Dead cover music—every Monday at 7 p.m. on WKZE 98.1 FM and streaming at wkze.com. She also drums and sings with Misty Mountain Ramblers, a Woodstock-based band, and continues to write, record, and perform her original music in solo, duo, and trio formats.
In 2025, Denise releases two new singles: one with The Deadbeats and another in collaboration with renowned multi-instrumentalist and producer Jerry Marotta, both recorded in Woodstock. Stay updated on her work at www.deniseparent.com.
